Alive to hope
Reflective Practice focussed on building hope:
I was recently invited to write an article on Hope, with Coaches in mind, for the AC's magazine, Coaching Perspectives. Given that in more northerly parts of the northern hemisphere it is the time of year where people experience post-christmas slump, Winter Blues and Seasonal Affective Disorder, it seemed to be a timely piece to write.
When writing for coaches, I know that they will have in mind: their own state and practices to support themselves, and also their clients' states, and the practices they can bring them to increase their self efficacy and resilience. I know that developing a purposeful, reflective habit can make all the difference to how a coach feels about their own state and their readiness for their client work. I hear evidence of that crop up very regularly in the supervision sessions I run.
So I wrote a piece that both looks at (some of) what we know about hope and links it to practices, but also suggests a daily practice for a week to strengthen our hopeful resources..
If you are a coach, you may like to try it and see how it works for you.
Please share what works for you to bring hope more readily when you need it.
